The difference is in the details:
Whitetail AMO is a compound comprised of aggregate, mineral and ore. These elements have been engineered in specific ratios, which promote deer usage on a regular basis year round. Primary elements include Phosphorus, Calcium, Sodium Carbonate and Magnesium. Trace elements include Zinc and other metals such as Iron. Incorrect ratio and/or incorrect types of these elements yield limited to no usage of a particular product. However, correct elements in proper ratios yield consistent, year round usage by BOTH buck and doe.
Whitetail AMO contains less than 10% salt! Many supplement products contain over 60% salt, which can dramatically reduce deer usage during late summer and fall. A deer’s salt requirement is fairly low, and has little effect in antler growth and nutritional requirements. Therefore, high salt content generally shows minimal results in deer sightings and usage. Salt is typically inexpensive, and is used as a filler to make you think you’re actually getting more product then you actually are.
Some products only work a few months out of the year, while others appear not to work at all. This can be due to a number of reasons. It is difficult to fool deer into consuming a product that may have a “food” smell, such as corn, soy, etc. Whether that smell comes from a natural or artificial source, if the deer have an ample food source, they may be reluctant to use the product. Another reason for limited usage is due to taste of the product. If the product produces a harsh taste to the animal, results will generally be limited. If the product does not have a natural texture to the animal, again, this will generally result in limited usage of the product. Both the taste and texture of the product have also been proven with other animals, not just deer. An animal may learn this “unnatural” sense, and stop using the product all together.
Whitetail AMO is a fragile compound, in such that it is bottled and sealed to ensure no contamination. Generally speaking, you cannot smell Whitetail AMO. However when in contact with moister or water, Whitetail AMO releases a vapor that can be detected by deer. Deer naturally detect aggregate, minerals and ore by smelling ground. Again, these minerals are not detected by smell to human, but are there. They are also “part” of the soil, not powder mixed with soil (unless found in vein form). Whitetail AMO Is presented to the deer, as it naturally would be occurring in nature, both by smell and by texture. We feel this to be part of the key for sustainable, positive results year round.
Because of Whitetail AMO’s makeup, you only need to apply once every 60 – 90 days depending on the number of deer in the area. The best way to monitor this is by use of a trail camera. Once you notice sightings dropping off in terms of photographs, you can reapply. Do not exceed applications before 60 – 90 days, as this will make the site too concentrated, and the deer will wait for the compound to naturally buffer itself. Deer will typically begin using whitetail AMO within 2 – 5 days after a site has been made. |
Whitetail AMO was tested on wild deer, not fenced in or farm raised whitetails. It is not uncommon to have herds of deer using Whitetail AMO, even if you have not seen this in the past. It is also not uncommon to have deer fight over obtaining access to the site. Many products seem to only attract doe or yearlings. Whitetail AMO was specifically designed to increase buck sightings first, utilizing the elements that the buck requires the most. While the elements used in Whitetail AMO increase the buck consumption, they do not reduce doe and yearling consumption.
Many products contain too much of a particular mineral, which will “drown out” the effects of the minerals the deer are actually seeking. Even though this mineral may have nutritional benefits, it can contain too much, rendering the product useless. All minerals are not the same. Some types of minerals are composed much differently than others. The form or composition of the mineral tends to have an effect on whether or not a deer uses the site. It’s not magic; it’s simply finding the correct mineral and the correct ratio. Case in point, buck require calcium for antler growth. However, simply putting out calcium will not work. First, it may not be the correct form of calcium the deer are looking for, and second, most deer dislike the taste of calcium. The proper form of this element is crucial to having the buck utilize this important nutrient.
Whitetail AMO IS NOT a product produced at a “feed mill,” by simply scooping powdered minerals into a bag. Whitetail AMO has over 5 years of testing prior to being released to the public by Sterner Duttera. We were not interested in releasing another “me too” product. Whitetail AMO was engineered by a medical professional, who utilized his knowledge in compounds to produce this product. It has taken years of trial and error to produce a product that would truly bring deer to the site. Whitetail AMO is a product you can rely on to bring in deer on a regular basis, year round. If you are a serious hunter, who wants to see more buck in his or her area, use Whitetail AMO.
